Real Friends Vs Facebook Friends
For a very long time i had always depended the comfort of my friends. This was true through out my childhood as well as my dreaded per and teen years in fitting in a group. But now that i am 30 years old my friends have been either coming from people I work with or in some cases people who meet on Facebook on my buddy's friend's list on the site. I do go out and I do meet people in person but sometimes I get the feeling that they rather have a social life in the Internet instead of an 1 or 1 or outside group activity. Case in point i remember one time being at a party where a group of women ....not little teen girls....grown ass women where taking pictures as if they were a paparazzi instead of enjoying the moments at the actual party. So after the party is over they rushing back home so they can post up of how much of a good time they had. I'm not going to lie ..i too have fallen into the trappings... Last week I shut down my facebook to see how many people i have as actual real friends without the Internet. I was surprised that only 2 of the 261 friends on facebook actually contacted me and continue to be friends after the facebook been deleted. Where the rest care less if i was even on the website, it kinda makes you think that what is meant to keep people together...seems more like something to keep people apart. Now that I have deleted my facebook page i do feel i have a lot more time in my hands and that i am not reading today's gossip, comments and updated photos. I wonder once you start to know to much about a person on the Internet then what do you have to talk about when you meet them in person. Now with my free time I am going to focus more on my films that i am working on and just meet people when I come across them on the street instead of internet social sites, that includes e-harmony.

Welcome to the Revolution my friend...I congratulate you on stepping away from the online Matrix that everyone seems to have fallen into. I know I've resisted being part of the Fakebook Crowd from day 1. Lets keep it funky for a moment, all social networking sites are about 1 thing and 1 thing only...being seen and heard. People don't really care what anyone else is saying or what's going on in your life, it's about how you cool you look, who has more posts and comments on their wall and other stuff that doesn't mean squat. You deleted your account and for that I say good job sir. The reality of it set in when none of these so called friends hit you up. Resist the urge to return and run like a bunch of kids with sparklers through our real world life and just be happy and enjoy what life has to offer.
